braving the hoards....

A good New Yorker piece about shopping during the rise of the living dead:

"...So then the only space I can find is next to Macy’s, which is still on fire, by the way, and a mile from any of the open stores. Do you know how aggravating it is to run past all those cars in primo spots, abandoned and overrun with snakes?..."

Is the correct term for a group of zombies a hoard or what about a stagger of zombies? I doubt it's a flock of zombies or a gaggle of zombies...

A horde or perhaps an infestation, I dunno.

I heard it's a stagger of zombies but I don't remember where it came from. I like infestation, good one!

It's a munch of zombies, I believe.

(WV: "Buffi". No lie.)

I would think "a Shamble of zombies" would fit better.

"Shamble" is the correct term for a load of zombies.

"A target rich environment"?

Consider the physical state of your avg. zombie. Now, consider what one would say when one sees alot of zombies coming their way...

"There's a MESS of zombies coming this way!"

"stagger" sounds good, though how about a "lurch"?

Obviously, more than three zombies at a time would be a rot of zombies.

A graveyard of zombies... A cerebrevore of zombies... A sonambulation of zombies... A cephalophage of zombies... A wave of zombies... An apocalypse of zombies!

Hmmm. Zombies can be a little creepy, they are not noted for their critical thinking skills, and their primary goal in life is to shuffle after the living and feed off them.

How about a "Congress" of zombies?

How about a holocaust of zombies?
