just out of reach.....
We did a few test starts on Sunday but still no luck. The starter is "free wheeling" more often now, so it will need to be replaced. I'm not sure if it can be done with the engine still in the bike...but we'll see. The ignition timing is still giving us fits, so we're pulling the Dyna and taking the whole bike back to stock condition. No more Mikunis, no more Dyna. Surprisingly enough, I still had all the original points hardware (except a few screws). The only part we'll have to modify is the wiring but that's not difficult. Hell, it might still be in the piles of junk in the corner of the shop.
It's getting closer but not close enough. Oh, the left carb is leaking like crazy. Same thing my old carbs did, no clue why it's just the left. They're completely different carbs and even rebuilt.
Any ideas?

this is in regards to carbs leaking gas.Not sure if you have gotten it figured out yet,but here it is.Recheck your float heights and needle valve to make sure they aren't sticking.I had the same problem did this and bingo no more leaks.you can check this site for more specs per year for floats heights etc.http://www.hondachopper.com/carb.specs.html hope this helps.
Oh and 1 more thing.Set your carbs somewhere that you can see all float drain holes before you put them back on bike.I found that a bucket and some woodshims worked pretty good for this.Set them on on the floor ontop of bucket and shims. Now run a fuel line to carb from fuel source tank etc.... Now walk away and come back about ten minutes later and if all is well you will see no fuel leaking. You mught still have to adjust the float a little more etc... this is alot better then putting carbs on and then bling they are still leaking.
Yeah, what he said. And make damn sure your gas is clean. If you have floaties in the tank from rust or what have you that gets in the line it can hold open the float needle.
